We have made some vital improvements to increase the quality and robustness of our offering, ensuring our clients get the most out of the workplace through an enhanced mobile experience. Version 3.1 introduces some new features and expands upon existing functionalities to simplify the user experience and develop a better, more intuitive product for organizations and their employees.

User Activation and Responsiveness

3.1 improves activation throughout the Host Work onboarding process with a redesigned home screen and quick access to the most relevant shortcuts for each user.

Upgraded Navigation

Thanks to 3.1’s upgraded navigation, users can quickly find colleagues or locations throughout their office, in addition to a simplified desk booking process that saves employees time and improves space utilization.

Here are some of the technical details…

  • Host Work 3.1 embraces lean agile practices, test-driven development, and continuous delivery to drive shorter delivery cycles and greater product quality
  • 3.1 establishes a horizontal software/continuous delivery tooling foundation, leveraging Netflix’s open source-based Spinnaker platform to drive cloud-native apps, APIs, automated deployments, security vulnerability, and open source license vulnerability assessments
  • This version established Kubernetes-based container orchestration for Host Microservices to optimize computation in the cloud
  • Host Work 3.1 published the first cut of building metadata to EDP to enable the enterprise to effectively leverage building and customer behavioral data, achieving tangible success measures
  • Host has partnered with information security experts to establish a platform (Fossa) to assess security and open source license vulnerabilities—this will be a key service to help drive anti-fragility in the platforms we execute to drive customer outcomes
  • 3.1 established a microservice gateway that leverages open source software from Ambassador/Envoy to replace Kinvey, our current MBaaS (mobile backend as a service) platform
  • Host partnered with information security and cloud engineering to establish a cloud-native internet access policy standard
  • Privacy by design and periodic privacy data assessments is a default strategy. Host has continued investment in technical and organizational measures (TOMs) (GDPR) to protect end-user data

What’s Next

We’re currently working on a “lite” version of the Host Work app. This iteration will be easily deployed with streamlined features and functionalities to provide a simplified app experience tailored to specific client needs. We’ll have more information on this version of Host Work as we get closer to launch.
